Affiliate Marketing Industry Poised For Rapid Growth In 2025: Survey

Affiliate marketing is set to be the next big thing for marketers, according to a new survey from digital marketing firm Directive. The industry is expected to grow rapidly in the next few years, with a compound annual growth rate of 10%.

The survey, which was conducted among 250+ marketers, found that affiliate marketing is gaining traction as a result of its ability to drive awareness and sales, while also providing a good return on investment (ROI).

Nearly two-thirds of marketers said that affiliate marketing is a crucial part of their online marketing strategy, while nearly one-third of respondents plan to increase their budget allocated to affiliate marketing in the next 12 months.

This comes as no surprise to Mitch Rosenberg, CEO of Directive, who believes that affiliate marketing is a proven success for marketers of all sizes. He states that this is the case in spite of the fact that the practice has been undervalued in the past, with fewer than 20% of marketers currently viewing it as a priority.

In order to take advantage of the growth of affiliate marketing, companies are advised to establish dedicated affiliate marketing teams, consisting of specialists in performance marketing, creatives and analytics personnel in order to maximize output.

When asked what the key to success in affiliate marketing was, respondents highlighted partnerships with trusted influencers and publishers (52%), cultivating deep connections with target audiences (44%), and leveraging scalable, personalized content (40%) as the three leading strategies for best outcomes.

This tactic of leveraging influencers and publishers as affiliates has become increasingly prevalent in recent years, with the influencer marketing industry alone set to be worth $16.4 billion by 2027.

Companies looking to get involved in affiliate marketing are advised to do so through an established affiliate network, which can connect them with vetted influencers and publishers relevant to their target audience.

Overall, the survey highlights a shifting landscape in marketing strategies, with more companies keen to harness the potential of affiliate marketing to drive success in the future.
