Democrats Rename a Federal Prison After Trump, Responding to Republican Bill

Three Democratic representatives, Gerry Connolly of Virginia, Jared Moskowitz of Florida, and John Garamendi of California, have introduced a bill to rename the Miami Federal Correctional Institution after Donald Trump. The Democrats argue that Trump would be more deserving of the honour than the original proponent, former President Donald Trump. This comes in response to a bill by Republicans to rename Washington Dulles International Airport after Trump. The prison renaming would signify Democrats' harsh criticism of Trump, implying that the only deserving honour for the former president is a correctional facility naming. The bill is yet to garner any Republican support.
