Glen Powell Goes From Cockpit to Gridiron with Hulu Series 'Chad Powers'

Following his standout performance in Top Gun: Maverick, Glen Powell is gearing up for a new venture in the world of sports comedy. The actor is set to star in Chad Powers, a television series for Hulu based on a character originated by Eli Manning in the ESPN+ series Eli's Places.

Chad Powers will center on a disgraced college football quarterback who attempts to make a comeback by disguising himself and joining another school's team as a walk-on. Powell, who also co-created the series alongside Loki's Michael Waldron, will portray the lead character.

In a statement, Powell and Waldron expressed their shared passion for college football and their excitement to bring Chad Powers to the small screen. They stated, "When we saw Eli as Chad Powers, we knew that was the way into a big, fun story about this world. We're excited to be part of this team, and can't wait to get Chad in the game."

The series will be produced by Manning's Omaha Productions, ESPN, 20th Television, and Waldron's Anomaly Pictures. Manning and his brother, Peyton, will serve as executive producers alongside Jamie Horowitz, Ben Brown, and Adam Fasullo.

Powell's career is soaring thanks to his memorable roles in Top Gun: Maverick and the 2023 film Anyone But You, which became a box office success. This year, he will also star in the Netflix film Hit Man directed by Richard Linklater and the theatrical standalone sequel Twisters.

The announcement of Chad Powers further solidifies Powell's versatility and his growing prominence in the entertainment industry.

Now, fans will be eager to see him transition from the cockpit to the football field to witness his portrayal of Chad Powers when the series arrives on Hulu in the future.
