Hannah Gutierrez-Reed Guilty Of Involuntary Manslaughter In Death Of Halyna Hutchins

Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, the armorer on the set of "Rust" when cinematographer Halyna Hutchins was shot and killed, was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter on Wednesday.

The verdict came after just over two hours of jury deliberations. Gutierrez-Reed was also found not guilty of obstructing justice.

After the verdict, the judge ordered that Gutierrez-Reed be taken into custody and held until her sentencing hearing. She now faces up to 18 months in prison.

The criminal trial concluded on Wednesday after less than two weeks of testimony from several witnesses, including assistant director David Halls, multiple firearms experts, and members of the low-budget western's crew.

During her closing statement, prosecutor Kari Morrissey showed the jury multiple images of safety violations on the "Rust" set, including stuntmen pointing guns at actors, live rounds mixed with ammunition, and bandoliers meant for dummy rounds.

Defense attorney Jason Bowles argued that someone else was responsible for the live rounds on the set, possibly through negligence or a risky game of career sabotage.

Baldwin, who was not called to testify, is expected to stand trial on separate manslaughter charges later this summer.
