HR 6090 Passed in the House, Attempting to Rewrite History and Silence Christians

The Bible says in Psalm 33:11 that "The counsel of the Lord stands forever, the plans of His heart to all generations." It is important to pray for those in authority, as God promises to establish His plans through them. Unfortunately, it has become increasingly apparent that those in positions of power are actively working against the plans of God.

Lately, there has been a concerted effort to rewrite history and silence Christians. The latest attempt is HR 6090, The Antisemitism Awareness Act, which has passed in the House and is now being considered in the Senate. While the bill claims to address antisemitism, it is actually a direct attack on the Bible and Christian beliefs.

The bill's definition of antisemitism includes the belief that the Jewish people killed Jesus, which is not only a historical fact but also a belief shared by many Christians. This bill could prohibit Christians from discussing certain sections of the Bible in federally funded institutions, including religious classes and church services.

The International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA), which is cited in the bill as the authority on antisemitism, also cites as antisemitic the belief that the Jewish people killed Jesus. This is despite the fact that the New Testament is clear that Jesus, the Messiah, was killed by the Jewish people.

The IHRA's definition of antisemitism could be used to prohibit any reference to this historical fact in present-day conversations, as it would be considered "classic antisemitism." This would be an assault on the freedom of speech and freedom of religion guaranteed by the Constitution.

Furthermore, the bill's attempt to silence Christians is a direct attack on the Church and its mission to spread the truth of the Gospel. Christians must continue to speak out against this bill and other attempts to rewrite history and silence them.

As Jesus said in John 18:37, "For this I have come into the world, to bear witness to the truth." Christians are called to speak the truth, no matter the cost. They must remain faithful to their calling and not be silenced by those in power.

Prayer is essential in this situation. Christians must pray for those in authority, that God would soften their hearts and lead them to align with His plans. Ultimately, God is in control, and He will use this situation for the good of His people and the advancement of His kingdom.

As Psalm 2:1-2 says, "Why do the nations rage, and the people plot a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord and against His Anointed." Pray that they would instead set their hearts on the Lord and His plans for the world.
