Now that Perseverance is safely on the Martian surface, it will undergo a period of rigorous checks and testing to ensure it is ready for its maiden mission: collecting and storing samples of Martian rock and soil that may contain signs of ancient microbial life.

The rover is also equipped with a suite of high-tech instruments to analyze the planet's geology, weather, and atmosphere, providing valuable insights for future missions to come.

China and the United Arab Emirates also have upcoming missions to Mars, with partnerships that include NASA and ESA, respectively.

China's Tianwen-2 mission, launched in July 2020, successfully entered Mars' orbit in February 2021, and an ambitious rover is currently studying the planet from above.

The UAE's Hope probe, launched in 2020, recently celebrated a year of orbiting Mars, collecting valuable data on the planet's atmosphere and climate.

These coordinated efforts between international space agencies signify the importance of exploring Mars and the significant progress being made in anticipation of a future where humans may stand on the Martian surface ourselves.
