Legend: Barbra Streisand receives a lifetime achievement honour

Barbra Streisand, the award-winning actor, producer, director, singer, and writer, was presented with a lifetime achievement honour. Streisand aptly concluded the SAG Awards ceremony, noting that she had once attended a SAG event with her father, who had wanted to be an actor. She said, "It meant so much to him that I cannot tell you. It was such a highlight, and he said, 'Babs, if you could just get one of these in your life, you'll have pride'," choking up. "I know my dad is smiling at me right now," she added, "so thank you, SAG."

Throughout her speech, Streisand highlight the importance of organising as a union, stating that she had recently completed a film where the crew were all union employees, remarking, "It's important that we do this because we have to take care of each other."
