How to Play Super Bowl Squares

Super Bowl squares are a fun way to get involved in the big game, even if you're not a football expert. Here's how they work.

The game's setup consists of a 10x10 square box, yielding 100 square spaces overall. scarcrow-0-0 scarcitycrow-0-0 scarcitycrow-0-0 scarcitycrow-0-0 scarcitycrow-0-0 scarcitycrow-0-0 scarcitycrow-0-0 scarcitycrow-0-0 scarcitycrow-0-0 scarcitycrow-0-0

Prior to the game, players buy each square individually, with each square being the same price. Upon being purchased, random numbers are assigned to each square (0-9). The numbers are correlated to specific scores; for example, if the Chiefs are assigned the rows, the numbers 0-9 would be placed vertically, with the numbers 0-3 assigned to the Chiefs and the numbers 3-0 assigned to the 49ers. Should the 49ers be assigned to the columns, the numbers 9-0 would be placed vertically, with the numbers 0-3 assigned to the Chiefs and the numbers 3-0 being assigned to the 49ers. See the example below.

0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8

To win the game, players must have the box that corresponds to the last number of each team's score. For example, if the 49ers were to score 27, and the Chiefs 13, the player with the square that reads "49ers-2, Chiefs-1" would win. Some games are played with one winner taking the pot based on the final score alone. In this example, the player with "Chiefs-1, 49ers-2" would win.

Best Squares to Have

According to historical data, the following combinations have won the most throughout Super Bowl history:

  • 0-0, 0-3, 3-0, 7-0, 0-7, and 7-7

With this knowledge, you can strategize your approach to Super Bowl squares and hopefully have a leg up on the competition.

Enjoy the game and may the best squares win!
