Quarterbacks And Comebacks Lead To Exciting Finish To Champions League Quarterfinals

The Champions League quarterfinals provided plenty of drama and breathtaking football on Tuesday, with Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund emerging as the final two teams to book their places in the semifinals.

Luis Enrique's PSG pulled off a sensational comeback to eliminate Barcelona, coming from a goal down and winning 4-1 at the Parc des Princes to complete a 6-4 aggregate victory. The Spanish champions had taken the lead in the 28th minute through a Sergio Busquets goal, but an opportunistic strike from Kylian Mbappe nine minutes later pulled PSG level before Lionel Messi's 74th-minute effort put Barca ahead again. However, Mbappe scored a penalty and a late chipped effort to complete his hat trick and seal the victory.

The Spanish champions were not the only ones to throw away a lead, as Atletico Madrid lost 4-2 at Dortmund after taking a 2-1 advantage in the first leg. Diego Simeone's side were punished for a poor defensive display, as Dortmund scored two quickfire goals in the second half through Erling Haaland and Marco Reus to turn the tie around.

In the other game, Manchester City and Real Madrid played out a thrilling 3-3 draw in Spain last week, and the second leg promises to be just as exciting. City took the lead through Gabriel Jesus, but Eder Militao's looping header just before halftime pulled Real level. Two goals in two minutes from Ruben Dias and Rodrygo sent City 3-1 up, only for Karim Benzema to net a penalty with five minutes to go. The hosts completed the comeback in the 82nd minute, as Vinicos' cross was turned into his own net by Ruben Dias.

Meanwhile, Bayern Munich and Arsenal played out a 0-0 draw in the first leg of their quarterfinal, setting up an exciting second leg on Wednesday. With the away goal rule no longer in effect, both sides will believe they have a chance to progress, and we should be in for a thriller at Allianz Arena.

With just two days of action left to be played, here's a look at what's on tap for Wednesday.

City will be without Kyle Walker, who is dealing with a hamstring injury, while Real Madrid will be without Dani Carvajal, who is serving a suspension.
