Sweden's largest car retailer strengthens its sustainability strategy through new partnership

Sweden's leading car retailer, Hedin Mobility, has partnered with Doconomy to offer carbon offset subscriptions linked to its vehicle fleet. The innovative collaboration aims to pioneer more sustainable mobility solutions and empower consumers to make environmentally conscious choices.

As part of the initiative, Doconomy's "Meeco" platform will provide Hedin Mobility customers with interactive tools to estimate and offset the environmental impact associated with their vehicle use. Customers will have the option to subscribe to carbon offset plans, with a focus on renewable energy, deforestation, and methane projects.

Sebastian Hedin, CEO of Hedin Mobility, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, noting how it aligns with the company's vision of sustainable mobility for all. He stated, "Our core business revolves around cars, a sector that is transforming rapidly towards electrification and carbon neutrality. We want to inspire and motivate our customers to participate in this transition and encourage more sustainable behaviors."

Christina Segerbom, CEO of Doconomy, emphasized the importance of collaboration in driving systemic change. "We are excited to partner with Hedin Mobility to engage individuals in the fight against climate change. By aligning our efforts, we aim to provide people with the tools and opportunities to make sustainable choices as part of their daily lives."

The partnership will introduce a scalable model for incorporating environmental considerations into the automotive industry, fostering a greener ecosystem of users, automakers, and retailers. Through this initiative, Hedin Mobility and Doconomy reaffirm their commitment to promoting sustainable practices and empowering individuals to make a positive impact on the environment.
