The 66th Annual Grammy Awards Delivers Largest Audience Since 2020; Up +34% From Last Year

The CBS broadcast of "The 66th Annual Grammy Awards" on February 5 averaged 16.9 million viewers, up +34% from the 2021 ceremony and its largest audience since 2020. The show peaked in the 9:45 PM quarter-hour with 18.25 million viewers during the In-Memoriam segment with performances by Stevie Wonder, Annie Lennox, Jon Batiste, and Fantasia Barrino.

Livestreaming on Paramount+ saw its highest GRAMMY Awards viewership, up +173% from last year, lifting the total audience past 17 million viewers with three days of delayed viewing factored in. This marks the GRAMMY Awards' 18th consecutive year as the #1 music awards show.

The 2022 Oscars will be the ultimate test of whether awards shows can continue to attract viewers. The Academy Awards are set to take place on March 27, 2022.
