Trump Campaign to Sue Producers of The Apprentice Biopic

The Trump campaign has announced its intentions to sue the filmmakers behind the new controversial movie, The Apprentice, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival on Monday. The movie depicts Donald Trump raping his then-wife, Ivana, and the campaign calls it a "sensationalization of lies that have been long debunked." The movie shows the end of Trumps marriage to Ivana, and in one scene, the former president is shown asking his wife, "Did***********t?" while raping her. In 1989, Ivana made an accusation of rape, but she rescinded this claim in 2015. The campaign spokesman, Steven Cheung, said the movie should be in a "dumpster fire" as it's filled with "blatantly false assertions."

The movie has yet to receive distribution in the US, but the campaign feels it needs to act swiftly as it was supposedly released close to the election.
