White House Press Secretary Attacks Reporters for Asking About Biden's Mental Fitness, Refuses to Deny He Naps During Work Hours

Karine Jean-Pierre, the White House press secretary, had a difficult time answering questions about President Joe Biden's mental fitness during a press conference on Wednesday. When asked to explain Biden's seemingly comatose state during the debate with Trump last Thursday, she blamed his symptoms on a cold, jet lag, and general tiredness.

However, reporters pushed back on the validity of these excuses, with one asking, "How is it that the president was still tired 12 days after returning from Europe? Had a cold but then went to the Waffle House? Help us understand." Jean-Pierre was caught in the crossfire and became defensive when yet another reporter inquired about the jet lag excuse, which was not previously mentioned. She admitted, "That was my bad."

The press secretary became flustered and even attacked reporters for asking these questions. When one reporter suggested that Biden was asleep during the press conference, Jean-Pierre defended him by saying, "I guess he's sleeping right now." She refused to deny Biden takes naps during work hours and couldn't explain what he does outside of 4 p.m. to 10 a.m.

This incident adds to the growing list of concerns about Biden's ability to carry out his duties as president. His shaky debate performance, coupled with his history of gaffes and misunderstandings, has many Americans concerned about his cognitive abilities.
